Dr. Adil Tamimi is currently professor of civil engineering & director of IMS college of engineering, American University of Sharjah, UAE. He has completed his BSc (Civil Engineering) in University of Technology at Baghdad in Iraq in the year 1977. He has completed his MSc (Structural Engineering) in University of Strathclyde at Glasgow in UK in the year 1986 and his PhD from the same university on civil engineering in the year 1990. He worked as a lecturer of civil Engineering in the Technical institute of Basra in Iraq from 1977-1982.He worked as a Site Engineer in the National Oil Company in Iraq from 1982-1985.He worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Strathclyde, UK from 1985-1990.He worked as a Researcher in the Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering, University of Paisley, UK from 1991-1995.He worked as a Research Fellow in the Department of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering, University of Paisley, UK from 1995-1997.He worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering,University of Paisley – Scotland, United Kingdom from 1997-2000. His research areas are 3D Concrete Printing, Green Buildings, High Performance Concrete Design & Applications in Harsh Environment, Sustainability/Green Buildings Design, Safety, Composite Materials. He has published over 100 papers in journals and proceedings, three book chapters and co-authored two books.
